Breaking the Norm #7 – Tim Crockett

If you’ve ever seen the film Taken, you will be familiar with the the quote “…what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.” This sums up Tim.

We covered a lot in this podcast including: retrieving tapes of Osama Bin Laden, smuggling journalists into Homs in the peak of the Syrian troubles, and now training to row the Atlantic…. SOLO.

One thing to take from the podcast, is Tim’s attitude towards trusting the process and just carrying on. This is demonstrated well in Tim’s example of facing adversity in the podcast.

Tim started off his military career in the Royal Marines, winning the honour of becoming a King’s Badgeman. He then progressed into the Special Boat Service before leaving the special forces and going into various areas, namely security project management. Not one to do things by halves, Tim is now training to row 3,000 miles solo and unsupported across the Atlantic in support of veterans with PTSD.

Any support for Tim, whether a small donation or a corporate sponsor would be greatly appreciated. You can find out more about the challenge at Tame the Kraken.

You can also find Tim on Facebook here.

If you haven’t already please subscribe on our homepage to our weekly Monday morning newsletter. We keep it short with a few positive news stories, the thought of the week, and links to previous podcasts.

Enjoy!
